An Interlude in UNDYING: A YOUTHFUL HEART
Synopsis
Rome, 204 BCE. A disgraced sellsword, wandering the Sicilian countryside from tavern brawls, caravan escorts and territory disputes, finds himself fleeing the catastrophic fallout from a botched contract. And along the arduous flight, he crosses paths with a fugitive bandit—a woman unrivalled with the bow, and on a quest for revenge—who employs his sordid trade in search of the man who killed her father. Two people born of separate worlds, with temperaments of the scarcely spoken and the volatile—both being ruthless, violent murderers running from the law, and who must find a way to work with each other to survive. Where will destiny take them?

ON THE STORY STRUCTURE
The Fragment, and more so the Violent Fragmentation exists as it does because I possess neither the time nor the capital to complete the epic romance of the Leopard & the Wolf. And I cannot perceive myself alive or capable in the next 10 years. This is my death anxiety! Five to ten years, because it’s a long story. Or rather, it is a secondary story in A YOUTHFUL HEART— which follows another pair of paramours. Volume 1 should conclude in a year; Volume 2 perhaps by 2032; Volume 3 perhaps… Ah! If God allows it! But let the Lord be generous with me! And with you as well! So that we may die accomplished, or die in the act of accomplishing!
PART 2 — VIOLENT FRAGMENTATION
The kindly faced prophet in the marketplace; the dirty handed children collected about him; an ambush of a slave caravan; a stolen kiss under the pale moon; the mournful beast bearing its fangs; the lover who melted overjoyed, and sleepless embracing. Now these are the events which took place in the time of their lives, in the year before the beginning of the end. Where will destiny take them?

A YOUTHFUL HEART
This is the present story, which follows a friend of Solomaeus, straw haired Helios of Lance. Disgraced knight, breaker of vows, unrepentant murderer, and a man who revels in base desires, as a way of letting time slip away. Where will destiny take him!
